Camp Monocacy Creature Feature Programs highlight Catoctin Creek Nature Center

Campers attending Camp Monocacy last week were visited with a special creature feature outreach program that highlighted the diversity of wildlife. Budding Naturalists from Emmittsburg, Frederick, Centerville, and Middletown received a welcomed dose of nature inside during the oppressive heat that was occurring outside. Campers were able to learn about Madagascar Hissing Cockroaches, Walkingsticks, Painted & Eastern Box Turtles, and of course an awesome Corn Snake! This is a sample of what the natural world will bring indoors once Catoctin Creek Nature Center is complete. School field trips, family programs, birthday parties, scout projects, and volunteer opportunities will be available this fall!
