Educational Birthday Parties!

One of the most popular things to register for at Catoctin Creek nature Center since it opened in February has been its Educational Birthday Party program.  This program allows for the birthday party family to have a 2 hour activitiy time in one of our amazing program rooms.  One hour is spent with participants enjoying their own personal program by one of our trained staff, and the other hour is for the cake, presents, etc.  For only $160 per birthday reservation not only is it affordable and local, it is an educational experience where both parents and kids have an opportunity to learn something new.  If you are interested please call our main office at 301-600-1646 to reserve your party.  You can also visit to see the various themes you can choose from for your next party.  Please plan ahead since a 30 day notice is required and weekends are filling up fast!

Thank you Volunteers!

We wanted to give a special thank you to all the volunteers who helped make Catoctin Creek Nature Center's first Project Clean Stream a success.  We collected 1.8 tons of trash along the northwest stream bank that parallels Sumantown Road.  Further work will be completed this Saturday, April 9, 2011 during Nature Fest where volunteers will be removing invasive vines and conducting a large tree and shrub planting south of the Nature Center.  To all who are interested in the plantings or the removal of invasive plant species call 301-600-2050 and find out how you can help.

Volunteers listening to instructions from Park Naturalist Brian Campbell.
This is just some of the results of the volunteer’s efforts.
