This Blog is dedicated to the enthusiasm surrounding the newest Frederick County Nature Center. Opened in February 2011, the center is an environmentally-friendly building situated on 139 acres along beautiful Catoctin Creek. Come visit and walk the trails, play a tune on the musical garden, enjoy the creek, explore the playground and visit the exhibits in the Nature Center.
No, you will not be planting these flowers, but you will learn about planting native plants in our “Intro to Landscaping with Native Plants”. Instructor Chris Pax is a landscape design professional with a graduate degree in sustainable landscape design and a keen interest in our native plants. She will share inspiring photos of area gardens as well as combinations found in nature.
