What's Going on at Catoctin Creek!




Winter Birds Family Program
Bring the little ones to cuddle-up and enjoy some special stories about our feathered friends.  We will have the chance to search for birds on a mini-hike, make a bird feeder, and play interactive games.

Catoctin Creek Stream Field Study

Volunteers Needed!

When: Saturday Jan 19, 11:00 am -3:00 pm
Inclement Weather Date: Sat. Jan. 26th, 11:00 am - 3:00 pm
Where: Catoctin Creek Nature Center & Park in Middletown, MD
Ages: 8 y.o. and up

On Sat. Jan 19th we will be conducting a survey of macro-invertebrates  tiny freshwater insects found in Catoctin Creek. Volunteers are needed to help collect, sort, and identify macro-invertebrates  Volunteers are needed to assist with water sampling up to 1-2 feet deep. Creek temperatures will be very chilly.
All volunteers are required to wear boots in order to participate in this survey. 
Please remember to dress for the weather. If you are interested in helping with this project please call us and let us know how many people will be coming in your group.
