Volunteers Needed


Stream Volunteers Needed

Sat. May 4th, 11:00am-2:00pm
 
Where: Catoctin Creek Nature Center & Park in Middletown, MD
 Ages: 8 y.o. and up
Information: Please call # 301-600-2050
On Sat. May 4th we will be collecting & monitoring macroinvertebrates, tiny freshwater insects found in Catoctin Creek. Volunteers are needed to help collect, identify, and sort macroinvertebrates. We will also be collecting water sampling up to 1-2 feet deep. Please remember to dress for the weather. If you are interested in helping with this project please call the nature center at: 301-600-2050 and let us know how many people will be coming in your group.

Saturday April 13th Stream Survey has been rescheduled to May 4th


DUE TO THE RECENT RAIN, THE APRIL STREAM EVENT HAS BEEN RESCHEDULED.

Stream Clean Up Results


On Saturday April 6th 66 volunteers came out to assist with our annual stream clean up event. We monitored 1 mile of creek front within the park and collected a total of 720 lbs of trash and debris. We would like to thank all of the volunteers and staff members who make this event possible! Thank you!

Stream Clean Up Volunteers are need to help clean up trash at Catoctin Creek Park. Join park staff in the on-going effort to restore the health of the Bay and its tributaries by removing trash from the park’s creek area!
