This Blog is dedicated to the enthusiasm surrounding the newest Frederick County Nature Center. Opened in February 2011, the center is an environmentally-friendly building situated on 139 acres along beautiful Catoctin Creek. Come visit and walk the trails, play a tune on the musical garden, enjoy the creek, explore the playground and visit the exhibits in the Nature Center.

On Sat. May 4th we will be collecting &
monitoring macroinvertebrates, tiny freshwater insects found in Catoctin Creek.
Volunteers are needed to help collect, identify, and sort
macroinvertebrates. We will also be collecting water sampling up to 1-2 feet
deep. Please remember to dress for the weather. If you are

in your group.
