Calling all 3-5 year olds!  Come join us at Catoctin Creek Nature Center for

I Love Nature   

   Little knee-high naturalists will explore the natural world through stories, crafts, and the live animals at the nature center. This series will feature a different story-based theme each month. Be surprised at all your child can learn!

 

 

Ages:  3-5 years

Fee:   $28.00 for 3 sessions

Dates:  On the last Thursday of each month:  1/31, 2/28, 3/28

The Macroinvertebrate Stream Survey for Saturday, January 26th,

has been cancelled due to frigid temperatures.

The next macroinvertebrate sampling will be in April.

On Sat. Jan 26th we will be conducting a survey of macro-invertebrates, tiny freshwater insects found in Catoctin Creek. Volunteers are needed to help collect, sort, and identify macro-invertebrates.  Volunteers also are needed to assist with water sampling up to 1-2 feet deep. Creek temperatures will be very chilly.

 Please remember to dress for the weather.  All volunteers are required to wear boots in order to participate in this survey.

What's Going on at Catoctin Creek!

Winter Birds Family Program Bring the little ones to cuddle-up and enjoy some special stories about our feathered friends.  We will have the chance to search for birds on a mini-hike, make a bird feeder, and play interactive games.  When:   Saturday, January 12 from         10-10:45 am Ages:  3 to 5 years Fee:  $10.00 Space is limited, so we suggest you  pre-register by calling 301-600-2936 or go  on-line to www.recreater.com
