This Blog is dedicated to the enthusiasm surrounding the newest Frederick County Nature Center. Opened in February 2011, the center is an environmentally-friendly building situated on 139 acres along beautiful Catoctin Creek. Come visit and walk the trails, play a tune on the musical garden, enjoy the creek, explore the playground and visit the exhibits in the Nature Center.

Family Nature Programs
the nocturnal side of the park at our evening campfires. Each month will
include different activities. You may hear campfire stories; enjoy active
games; or take a short night hike before relaxing in front of the campfire.
Bring a lawn chair or blanket to sit on. Children under 3 are free. Cost: $4

I Can Camp-Overnights:
your child an introduction to camping in this parent/child program. Go on a
night walk and enjoy campfire activities. Bring your own tent, sleeping bags,
and snacks. Registration is for a parent/child pair $10 charge for each additional family member.
