This Blog is dedicated to the enthusiasm surrounding the newest Frederick County Nature Center. Opened in February 2011, the center is an environmentally-friendly building situated on 139 acres along beautiful Catoctin Creek. Come visit and walk the trails, play a tune on the musical garden, enjoy the creek, explore the playground and visit the exhibits in the Nature Center.

Free Nature Program Sunday Sept. 21st
Finding Your Way-Orienteering Program
Sunday, Sept. 21st (2-3pm)
Cost: This is a free program
Powers heads you in the right direction as you learn different ways to find
your way in the great outdoors. Children must be 8 years old or older and
accompanied by an adult. Space is limited. Please plan on arriving 10 minutes
before the program starts to register your family at the front desk. If you
